In the lower Gorges du Verdon
The Basses Gorges begin just after the Lac de Sainte-Croix dam. A 13-kilometre-long signposted trail leads to numerous caves that were once used as shelters by prehistoric man, to the pretty village of Montpezat and to the Esparron de Verdon reservoir, which offers a beautiful stretch of water for swimming and canoeing.
