In the lower Gorges du Verdon
The Basses Gorgesbegin just past the Sainte-Croix Lake dam. A 13-kilometer-long marked trail takes you past numerous caves that once served as shelters for prehistoric people, the charming village of Montpezat, and the Esparron-de-Verdon reservoir, which offers a beautiful spot for swimming in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
